Crawfish Étouffée

This one was my favorite of the three meals. It was plenty spiced that we didn’t end up adding the hot sauce but it was delicious in my eggs the next morning. I’ve never seen crawfish in a backpacking meal but it was awesome and would get again.

I haven’t tried the other flavors yet but the crawfish etouffee is amazing. Ordered just to try these before our big Havasupai hike and wow! Now I want to go on a backpacking trip just to have an excuse to eat some more!

I think this is the first freeze dried meal that has crawfish and there is a lot in the meal. The cajun/creole spice is mild but you can crank up the heat with the included hot sauce. Overall, a really great etouffee and is easily one of the top five freeze dried meals my wife and I had ever eaten.

Amazing!!! I’m new to dehydrated meals. bought a few packs of the etouffee and some other brand. the bowl & kettle was sooo flavorful, rich and just tasty. the other brand in the other hand, i had to borrow salt from a fellow hiker lol. if you had doubts, don’t. just order it and enjoy tasty food in the wilderness!

Discovered these at a Brewery in Texas near a State Park where we stayed a few days on our way from FL to AK. This was the only flavor they had and my wife wanted to try them so, we bought two. Few days later the weather was bad, so we opted to try the meal and was it good. I only got a small spoon full - yes I love her but I don't get between her and food. She couldn't wait for another bad weather day so she had the other a few days later. Great flavor, just enough kick for her. Naturally, easy to make. We just returned from another RV trip and had three of these in hand. Same review, they are great. About the same price as our other favorite camping meal. Going to add a chicken meal to our next order.
